Editor-In-Chic's 2017 Six Must-Haves

Veronica Terres, BSCENE's Editor-in-Chic, shares the must-haves she discovered in 2016 that you might want to make your must-gets in 2017!

1)    I love designer brands, but filling up my closet with them never has meant, emptying my bank account. Helpful consignment shopping sites like The RealReal offer pre-owned luxury items at reduced prices. I’ve scored many a name brand that still has its tags on it or has never been worn like these Christian Louboutins! Make it your must-have, book-marked shopping site.

2)    The AbiPaige Wrap was woven out of a friendship between Dallas-based designer, Abi Ferrin and her socially conscientious and style-savvy-entrepreneur friend, Paige Lane. What spun out of that friendship is their beautiful, cozy, cashmere wrap line, hand-dyed and sewn by women in Nepal through the Purrna program— which helps employ people from marginalized backgrounds and teaches them to become master seamsters and seamstresses, while giving them fair wages in a clean and safe environment. Get wrapped up in this must-have at Cole and Co. in Tyler.

3)    This year The Texas Rose Festival hosted celebrated designer/entrepreneur, India Hicks at the Ladies Luncheon. Hicks is the daughter of a famed interior decorator and British royalty. While her life seems more like fairy-tale, we can all still dream, right? Hicks, helps us do so, with products from her lifestyle brand like these beautifully, scented candles. My must-have fragrances are Casuarina and Black Hibiscus.

4)    Jewel Boutique in Tyler hosted a makeup event this fall featuring the French cosmetic line Le Métier De Beauté. My introduction to their products will be a lasting relationship. I purchased the After Glow Foundation and love it! It gives me full coverage without a heavy, facemask feel.

5)    As a little girl, I paid close attention to any helpful tips my mom would offer up for makeup emergencies. One such tip: use your lipstick as rouge when you’re looking a bit sallow in the middle of the day. Too bad she didn’t trademark the idea because Bite Beauty cosmetics has a great multi-makeup stick for use on lips, eyes and cheeks! My must-have is their Almond shade.

6)    I have an arsenal of products that help make my skin look a bit more youthful. One such product is this primer by Smashbox. It feels silky, but not oily and allows my foundation to sit nicely on my skin, rather than settling into its lines and creases.
